Location
This shot was taken in my hometown Ljubljana. One one best architecture in town is skyscraper (Neboti?nik) from the 1930s with spiral staircase. Most visitors take pictures from bellow, while this photo was taken from the top. I used very wide lens to incorporate red fence and incorporate often neglected colours in this motif.Time
There is very descreet natural light in this staircase, that doesn't change much during day, so this was shot around middday.Lighting
I used the natural lightning that forms some subtle light contrast here and there.Equipment
I used Nikon D7100 camera with Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X 124 AF PRO DX lens at 12mm. No flash, handheld at 1/25s and f5.6.Inspiration
Spiral staircase are always good object to practice composition.Editing
Some minor contrast, saturation and sharpening of raw file.In my camera bag
At that time this photo was taken I used only Nikon D7100 with lenses from fixed 35mm to different zoom lens. Today I mostly used Fuji x-t2 mirrorless camera.Feedback
Composition is crucial. Also take care of the lightning since sometimes there is a huge contrast between very light parts and part in deep shadow. Don't let the light parts get blown away. Use as wide lens as you have.
