I took this photo while visiting the LA County Arboretum with my mom.Time
It was around lunch time. My mom and I were strolling through the desert section of the Arboretum and I noticed all the bees buzzing around the flowers, and when I took a closer look, I saw all the pollen packed on their legs. That's something I had never noticed before!Lighting
It was really bright out and the sun was harsh. The wind was blowing. This photo was kind a miracle shot for me :)Equipment
I was using my Canon (I believe it was a 7d at the time). I'm also pretty sure I was using my 100mm macro (because I had just bought it).Inspiration
I just thought that the bees with the pollen on their legs were so interesting, and that the colors were so pretty.Editing
I did. I added a bit of contrast, and upped the vibrancy a bit. Then I added a soft light vignette to make the bee stand out a bit more.In my camera bag
I normally carry my Canon 5d Mark III, my 100mm macro lens and a 24-70 f2.8 lens.Feedback
Maybe get something to break the wind a bit :) That would have been the most helpful thing for this situation. I had to wait until there was a brief moment where everything was kind of still, and had to hope the bee remained.
