Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at home, outside my kitchen door. I have this beautiful plumeria plant that grows there.

Time

It was taken in the late afternoon, before the sun went down, but once the plant was in the shade.

Lighting

The plant was in the shade at the time I took the photo and the wind was blowing lightly.

Equipment

I used my Canon 50d camera but don't remember the lens I used. No tripod. No flash. Just handheld.

Inspiration

I LOVE Plumerias and was taking a black and white photography class, so this was a project I did for the class.

Editing

Yes, I used Photoshop to turn my yellow and white Plumerias to black and white.

In my camera bag

I normally have a camera, a macro lens, zoom lens and an off-camera flash, as well as extra CF cards and batteries.

Feedback

I'd suggest holding something black behind the plant and using a pretty small aperture to darken the background and get as much in focus as possible.
