Location
I live in a small town in Northern Ohio and this was taken right outside of my hometown. I usually grab my camera and equipment and go driving to where ever. I never have a plan. So this was actually the last picture I took for the day, because as you can see, it looks like its really going to storm.Time
Early evening around 5:00-6:00 pm.Lighting
Only that it was getting dark and I tried several different settings. I chose the shot that had the best contrast, because I really wanted the white barn to stick out. Shot at 1/2000 f/8 ISO 320Equipment
My Canon EOS 60D, Canon EFS 18-135 mm lens. No flash. No tripod.Inspiration
I was out riding in my car looking for scenic, nature shots and was on my way back home. The sky was dark and cloudy all day, but when I started heading home, I ran into this very dark sky and as I was coming over a hill, I spotted the white barn. It just looked like something I would hang on my wall. So I pulled over, stood by my car and shot a few photos of it and drove home.Editing
No I did not. I liked it just the way I shot it. I do use various programs if an image needs it. Adobe Photoshop is tops for me.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 60D, Canon EOS 7D, Canon EFS 18-135 lens, Tamron AF 18-200 mm lens, Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 10-22 mm Wide Angle, Promaster Spectrum 7 100mm Macro lens, Canon Ultrasonic Zoom lens 100-400 mm, Sunpak Ultra 7000TM tripod, and Canon speedlite 580EX flash and various filters.Feedback
Use various settings on your camera and pay attention to the changing light when its cloudy or stormy. Keep your eyes peeled and drive slowly if you are out to capture various shots. Have fun and enjoy the solitude with nature!
