this is crazy, is this photoshopped? It looks as if the black has been penned on somehow, digitally. Regardless..it's really cool and if it's absolutely untouched...this is a brainteasing beauty! I love it. I actually thought it was a little fish peaking out of an aquarium at first.

No, this is his real face. The only thing I did to this was to take some scratches out of the window he is on. No other photoshop at all.

Since I posted this back in 2007, I have had several of the little cuties cocoon themselves on the back of my house. None for the last 2 years, though..Anyway, they are Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillars..They are green in color until they get ready to pupate and then they turn this bright yellow. The little "faces" are natural. I'll put up some more of the little guy later on. I put him in all kinds of shots..he's easy to transplant.
