I Love this one! An interesting bug on an interesting flower, the colors are fantastic as well! Nicely done!

Since it's a composite, I'll have to guess at the caterpillar, but the lily would have been shot in the late afternoon.Lighting
Natural light on both of the subjects.Equipment
The caterpillar was shot with my Sony H-1. It was on my window, crawling up to cocoon itself. They did this for several years in a row. They are spicebush swallowtail caterpillars. They are normally green, but when they are ready to pupate, they turn this beautiful yellow. Those are not eyes, they are just marking to scare off predators.Inspiration
How could you not? What a cute little guy he was. The flower was picked just because it looked like a good fit and had the right color.Editing
Yes, they are two separate photos, the caterpillar was placed in the flower by me in Photoshop 7.In my camera bag
I have a Canon T3i, and my "car camera" at Canon X50. A good friend retired from toting heavy stuff around and sold me all his equipment for a VERY reasonable price. (Thanks Murry).. I have a Canon 100mm macro lens, and a Tamron 18-270 that I normally carry around with me, along with a few filters (2 stop ND, Polarizer)..I'm getting up there in age and need to keep it to a minimum due to extreme out-of-shapeness.Feedback
Watch for the opportunity..I happened to see the caterpillar because my cat was on the inside of the window gawking at it. Use your imagination to decide what can be done with it. I'm technically challenged, to I do things as easy as possible. When you are 74 years old, you don't want to have to learn a bunch of new techniques, so you do what you can do as well as you can do it.
