Location
I was coming from work round sunset and took this favourite detour to relax a bit. This is the crossroad to Goedange, east of my road . Saw the birds and the warm colours on the church and quickly took some 20 shots.Time
It must have been round 5 pm.. that is when I return from work. Well, if I get out on time.Lighting
All provided by mother nature and God's blessing. Lovely light often only lasts for a minute, so we must observe well and hover a bit at the best spots.Equipment
A 200-500 Nikon zoom, the D500 (not ideal for this case but present), an old Peugeot, warm cap and gloves. Just lowered the RH window not to scare the birds off.Inspiration
The tranquility, the beauty of the scene and being thankful to have a job , albeit in a cold place.Editing
Imported it into Exposure 6 and used my favourite "Kodachrome 64" setting, which I have adapted to my tasteIn my camera bag
D4, D500 or 800, a Sigma 24-35 f2 a Macro lens which doubles as tele, a real tele if I think there are birds around and often the very old 18 f3.5 because it is distortion free, manual and reliable. No spare batteries because old stuff doesn't need it. A tiny Nikon flash. A polarizer. Fisherman's friend and reading glasses for small menus.Feedback
Know your trip tp work and back and every stress free detour. Take time and know the light. If today the light is no good, there is another day. Be observant.
