This was a complete experiment to see if I could create this photo. I used stacks of books, then placed my spoons in between the books, so that I could have something holding my spoons. I had to slightly bend my spoons to get the angles I needed. Then it was setting up a background screen and lighting to capture the photo. I added a trigger remote and stood on a ladder to pour honey over the top spoon. Once the honey flowed to all three spoons I started to take photos with the remote while I poured the honey.Time
I took this photo in the evening, after I had finished my days workLighting
I set up a plain white background, with lights, but my background turned out darker. I liked it though because it gave it a more rustic lookEquipment
I used a canon rebel t1i. I didn't use a flash on the camera, just external lights I had set up with a trigger remote..Inspiration
I am always looking for different shots. Things that make me ask, how did they do that. Then I work to find a way to do the shot. This was one of those I have to do that shots.Editing
I really didn't do any post processing to this. Just played with my saturation and contrastIn my camera bag
My bag all depends on where I am going. I have a smaller bag that has basic camera gear. Shutter remote, flash, reflective screen, batteries, cleaning clothes and extra lens caps, because for some reason, I lose those often. My bigger bag has everything from lens to filters . It has anything and everything I might possible need for just about any kind of shootFeedback
My best advice is this. Turn off the how toos from the world and experiment. Find the photography that makes your heart happy. Work at it until you feel at peace with your work. Don't let people discourage you because they will. My new thing is say and have with my business gear is this "May your heart see what your eyes often miss!"
