These tulips were a gift from my husband in a vase on my kitchen table.Time
I had gotten up one morning and found these sitting on the table. It was such a nice surprise and the tulips were lovely.Lighting
I did not use a flash for this picture. I wanted to try to capture the beauty I was seeing with the way the morning sun was illuminating the flowers.Equipment
I used my Sony A230 DSLR camera with a Quantaray 70-300mm Lens, this is a lens I've had for many years. I started with it on my Minolta film camera, it feels like an old friend to me. I did not use any other equipment.Inspiration
I'm a master gardener with a great love of all things nature related. People can find me with my camera anywhere I can capture the beauty in nature around us.Editing
I am the type of person who believes pictures are capturing a moment in time. I do not use any editing software because doing so would mean it no longer is a true picture. While I agree editing photos can create something beautiful or interesting, it no longer is real.In my camera bag
I always have my Sony A230 camera, and the Quantaray 70-300mm lens. I also have a Aspherical 28-90 lens. Of course I carry lens cleaning cloths, extra batteries, and sd cards. I always keep any manuals with me also. I also have a few camera lens filters, but as of yet, I have not used them.Feedback
Don't limit yourself to thinking you have to be at some popular tourist attraction to get good pictures. The opportunities can be anywhere you are, inside or out. Think about the positions you can hold your camera and different positions your standing in relation to the object you want to capture. There are many camera's and accessories available, from reasonably priced to quite expensive. Don't let anyone make you believe you have to own top of the line camera's or accessories. Have fun!
