Behind The Lens

Location

The Picture was taken in my home studio, a room of 4.5m*5m. Since there is no door to the next room and the entrance is around 1.5m wide I can be standing in that room and get some extra 2, 3m

Time

We made our own light in the studio :-)

Lighting

I used 1 studio flash with a 120x80cm softbox.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS 5DsR, EF 70-200/2.8 L II USM (75mm), 1 Elinchrom Style 300 (120x80cm softbox)

Inspiration

Usually I love black&white or faded colors in nude shots that have a quiet mood - often melancholic mood. We were inspired by old paintings for this Picture.

Editing

I added some contrast in post, micro contrast and made the B/W conversion.

In my camera bag

In my bag there is usually my camera, 2 zooms (16-35/4 & 70-200/2.8) and the following fixed lenses: 24/1.4, 35/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.2. My bag is pretty heavy

Feedback

Always try to expand your portfolio with a few unusual shots, try breaking the rules, add a few small things (knowing that most people won't see them). Often I take the liberty of trying, breaking the rules during my shootings. Just start with "I know what I do" - so, you have something to show to the model ;-)
