Location
The photo was taken right behind Sunrise Mountain which is about 10 miles east of Las VegasTime
About an hour before sunset.Lighting
I was actually trying to lure my dog in front of the camera to get him the shot. I came back and checked the camera and saw the sunburst on my shoulder. Not my original intention lolEquipment
This was on a tripod and I used the timer to take this selfie. Sony A7 with an adaptor and my canon ef 24-70 2.8 lens.Inspiration
I travel all over the desert to capture different moments and skies. The leading lines in the sky really caught my attention and guided me to this composition.Editing
Once I saw the image with the sunburst I knew I had to expose a different image of the mountains and blend myself, the sky, and mountains so the exposure flowed nicely and gave you more of the realistic view you'd get with your eyes (minus the sunburst of course). In my camera bag
Sony A7, always my 24-70 and sometimes I feel like breaking out my 8-16 or 70-200 I'll pick one of those as my backup. Wireless trigger, tripod, and a 10 stop ND filterFeedback
These things are rarely ever planned. Just keep an open mind and pay attention to what you are capturing. Let your creativeness take you to the next level whether it be composition or planning out strategically taken images for a more unique and artistic post production.
