My photo, seen here, was taken in Edwards Garden in the North end of Toronto, the city in which I live.Time
It was about 7:15 am when, the photo I took was captured during the early morning sunrise in March 2016 . From what I have been learning about the golden hour of light, I decided during my vacation from work, to go to the garden this particular morning and see what may be of interest to photograph. As I was descending toward the lower part of the garden, the bridge captured my attention in a very bold way.Lighting
As mentioned about the golden hour of light, from a distance, the bridge captured my attention in a very bold way. The whole scene, the trees, the calmness of the water, the reflection of the bridge with the natural sunlight was really beautiful.Equipment
My camera is a Canon t3i. The lens used was a 18-55mm. No flash was needed and no tripod was used during the capture of the landscape.Inspiration
Since taking up photography, I wanted to try new things such as taken photos during the golden hour. When I saw the scenery of the bridge and surrounding landscape, I thought my eyes were deceiving me. The water was so calm, it seemed as if there was a second bridge sticking out from the water. Of course it was just an illusion. Everything about the landscape in the photo was just so perfect to capture. Even as I still look at it, I can't believe what good luck I had to photograph the scenery.Editing
May I share a little secret with you? No post-processing was used to further enhance the photograph. I used the built in camera functions the makers of Canon provided in the camera. The WB Shift/BKT was used in this case. But this is my preference. I try to use very little post-processing in my photos and try to capture what I see just as it is.In my camera bag
When I go on a photo shoot, my camera is definitely a must have :) . I have two lens, the 18-55mm and 75-300mm zoom lens. Right now I am satisfied with what I have. Lately I have seen reviews on other lens and if they serve my needs and budget, I may consider purchasing more lens. Because I am still in a learning stage, the lens in my bag is great for now.Feedback
Get to your desired spot early, especially before sunrise or sunset, depending what you want to capture. Learn from others too on what their methods are when photographing landscapes. From that you can use what method works for you or you can experiment yourself, learn what your camera settings can do. In the end, if you capture that ONE GREAT photo, than all the efforts leading up to that moment is worth it. Good luck with your photos. I wish you plenty of if success.
