Location
This Photo was taken in college studio. It brings back the memories, when I was studying.Time
It was taken around 5pm, in-door studio with light's set up etc.Lighting
The lighting set up was the most important part, I was trying to get right colors and contrast. The set up included back and front stage where the flour were thrown at model.Equipment
I used Nikon D7100, with mounted on tripod, with standard lens, and 4 studio lights.Inspiration
It was my last year in college, where there was no limits, and the possibility of making strange and mysterious photos, access to fully equipped studio , it was great. The project that I was making was based on choosing one word and making 3 connected photos representing that word. My word was "Mirage" a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky.Editing
While I was doing this photo, three of my friends were hidden behind big dividers, they were throwing the colored flour at the model. In one throw I was taking around 4-6 images, best one were selected. For this image I merged little bit of background from two other images from the series. In my camera bag
If I carry my small bag I usually have Nikon D7100 with 50mm f/1.8G and 18-105mm and few SD cards to be sure nothing goes wrong. If I carry my big bag I then i take around 3-4 lenses (varies on what lenses i take) Nikon D7100, tripod, flashlight, some additional accessories and a git2 camera.Feedback
Do not limit yourself, try to think about strange and bizarre things, create your own unique style, remember about details and colors. Be Mysterious.
