Location
This was taken in Grant Park located in Chicago, Illinois.Time
This picture was taken at around 8pm.Lighting
The fountains are lit with various colors that change every couple minutes. I waited until the fountain was lit with the brightest colors to obtain the most detail.Equipment
I used a Nikon D750, Nikkor 50mm 1.8G, and a Benro tripod.Inspiration
This was actually taken during Trey Ratcliff's photo walk. He was very inspiring.Editing
I converted the photo to black and white and then worked in both Lightroom and Photoshop to get the contrast and mood I wanted. In my camera bag
I always have my D750 and 50mm. I just bought a Tamron 15-30 after saving for over a year so I revently added that beast to my bag as well.Feedback
You always here photographers talking about getting low for certain photos to capture a more personal feel and creative angle. I couldn't agree with this idea more! After trying many different heights with my tripod and not getting any interesting results, I ended up with my camera as low to the ground as possible. This gave the scene a much more interesting perspective.
