Location
Every spring, this azalea bush in my yard, at the corner of my house, has the most glorious, beautiful blooms! It was planted many years ago by my husband's aunt. Our house was built in 1925 so the bush could have been planted anytime after that.Time
I took this photo in mid morning, probably around 11 a.m.Lighting
The noon sun (11 a.m.) was almost directly overhead on a clear, cloudless day.Equipment
I used the auto features on my Fuji Finepix. As always, I upload pix to my editing software. I use PhotoImpact XL by Corel. I know, it's a dinosaur, but I've had it for years with no complaints. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to Light Box or something similar.Inspiration
The inspiration for this photo came from the simple, pure beauty of these particular azaleas. They are very eye catching and somehow, comforting to me.Editing
I used the auto features on my Fuji Finepix. As always, I upload pix to my editing software. I use PhotoImpact XL by Corel. I know, it's a dinosaur, but I've had it for years with no complaints. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to Light Box or something similar. The effect on this photo was achieved by using and adjusting a dark vignette around the selected part of the image. The vignette is one of the effects available in my software. In my camera bag
Always have my Fuji Finepix with me. My tripod needs to be replaced (procastinating). I always carry extra batteries as well. Normally I have one or two smart cards for the memory slot on my camera.Feedback
I feel I'm the last to give photography advice. But I would say that when something catches your eye, stop and take a photo or two or three. Photography is an art, like others, that is based on individual's opinions so never be discouraged! Take advice and learn but don't feel disheartened!
