Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was part of a test shoot with two beautiful young models in Azalea Park, Orlando, FL

Time

The sun was getting high in the sky around 11:30 am, so we sought refuge under a bridge in the park.

Lighting

Natural lighting was almost ideal for a wide open aperture shot. Just a little off camera fill light was used.

Equipment

Can 7d with a nifty 50 lens. Alien Bees 800 with 36" octo.

Inspiration

We were shooting a lot of full body images and multiple models. Wyatt's blue eyes were so bright and clear with the red flowers. I had to do a portrait.

Editing

Minimal post-processing. White balance and sharpening.

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon 7D with a 70-200, a 24-70 and 50 mm lenses. I usually have a backup body, triggers and assorted filters.

Feedback

This shot wasn't on the shoot list for the day, but it continues to be the favorite of the shoot. Always keep an open mind while shooting and be willing to go off on tangents.
