Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Singapore Venus Nature Park during a night macro walk.

Time

It was about 9.00pm in the night at the park.

Lighting

I was using a torch looking for the subject (e.g insect,bug,frog,,,)n i saw this beautiful blue dragonfly at the side of the plant.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 7D with 100mm2.8L lens,at f/20 1/250sec,ISO 100,I also using a external flash light + a custom diffuser,by the way it was using hand held n without any tripod.

Inspiration

nice color,beautiful composition ( water drip)on its eyes cause it was just after a downpour,also its was my first discover in the park,,,,

Editing

Done some little Crop,enhance brightness & contrast + some sharpness.

In my camera bag

powerful torch light cause i like more night macro,backup camera battery,memory card,camera clearing kit,raincoat n extra clothing,,

Feedback

is good to using hand held to shot the flying insect than w tripod because it can change the shooting angle n direction fast n without disturb the insect than if to adjust the tripod,it need more time n also some unnecessary movement might cause the insect fly off.
