Wow! Thank you so much View Bug for featuring this image of mine. It is definitely one of my favourites.

Location
I took this photo in our living room. We were both sat on the sofa which is right in front of the large front window.Time
It was during the afternoon but the light outside the window was warm and bright.Lighting
Lighting is what makes an image. That and shadows but without the light there would be no shadows. Natural light is my particular favourite and comes in many different qualities - glowing, soft, bright, harsh and flat.Equipment
The camera I used is a Fujifilm X100s with a Fujinon 23mm F2 fixed focal length lens. Hand held with no flash just the natural light coming through the window.Inspiration
The hat. Haha. I had just finished making the hat (crocheted) for her and I was trying it on her to check it fit nicely. We were both sat on the sofa and she was bouncing around doing what 2 1/2 year olds do best. She was taking the hat on and off (hence her messy hair) and I decided I would take a picture to upload to a group I belong to on FB to show off the hat. I quickly got my camera to grab a quick shot and managed to get a few before she took off the hat and ran off to play with something else. It was after I loaded the pics onto my PC that I realised I had a good 'un. So, as you can see, it was the hat that inspired me.Editing
I ran the photo through Lightroom doing the usual stuff - adjusting exposure, highlights, shadows, detail, sharpness etc. The image was in colour so I worked on it as a colour image. I then exported to PS and ran an action that lightens and illuminates the facial features. The colour version was uploaded to Viewbug and a few days later I tried it in B&W and ran another action to add more contrast. The black and white, I have to say, is my favourite. In my camera bag
Not much really and I don't even have a camera bag. I just use a big shoulder bag just so that I always have my camera with me. In the bag I have my camera, spare battery, spare SD card, lens cloth and that's it. Oh! Think there is a filter in there somewhere as well. What more does one need.Feedback
As you either know or can imagine, babies and toddlers cannot sit still for long and there is constant movement from them so just take loads and loads of pics. You will get lots of duds (blurred movement, out of focus etc.) but in amongst them you are bound to find that special photo that becomes a winner.
