Watching and exploring the mountains around eastern Montana during this period of change from winter to spring has been extraordinary. Systems' seem to move so quickly and develop out of no where, to be a meteorologist here has to be a nightmare. On this day alone I had snow, rain, periods of warm, blue skies and to top it off, thunderstorms in the evening with high winds. There is definitely no catch all symbol one could put in your morning paper to encompass all those variables. A cloud with a snow flake, rain drop, lightening bolt, quarter sun, and the classic wavy lines of high wind. I suppose you wouldn't know whether to go to work or take cover.
