Looking to the south from High Noon. I ended up having a far smaller area within to obtain perspectives on the shoal of the river. I've gambled on the ice before, but after days of rain and warmer temperatures, the odds were greatly against me. Though shallow and a short hike back to the truck, at 23 degrees (-5 C) I just wasn't in the mood today. All in all, not sure what kind of gain would have resulted in me doing so. Then again....?
