As I stood on the floor above at this art museum in Lisbon, I was captured by the nesting circularity of the view over the railing. Starting at the right side, the wide white handrail leads to the mobile; and the mobile leads to the stairs; and the stairs lead to the thin handrail; and the handrail to the shadows of the mobile from the overhead lighting. But what lies beneath? Where does the eye rest? It rests on the hole in the middle of the photographs, providing a peek to the floor below, where the floor pattern is repeated.
