Details are all around us, and the real question is whether we choose to see those details or ignore them. At first glance, one doesn't stop to think about the intricate details hidden in the vastness of the open desert. Why should they? There is emptiness as far as the eye can see, and what details could there possibly be in the middle of the desert? As I later found out, there are plenty of details - you have to know where to look and have patience. I finally got in a groove and out of my "everything needs to fit in a box" mindset and started taking pictures. Unfortunately, it wasn't until two years later that I found all the intricate details and patterns within patterns of what was literally at my feet the whole time. All I had to do was look down and pay attention.
