I took this photo because the clouds were this quilted looking pattern of alto-cirrus, like a blanket across the sky. Very cool looking. Here the sky is reflected from my pond as well, giving that mirror, mirror look to what is already a very unique looking sky.

Thanks both to JacquesV and sisirakumarabandara. These are the kinds of photos that make my day. I get a chance to see something relatively unique compared to many days. I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks, Tross. I am very glad this photo is getting such a warm (and quick) reception. My wife absolutely loved it and I think I'm going to have to start asking her more often which photos I should post. She obviously has good taste that matches those of you who liked this one, too. Thanks again!

Whoo Hoo! Another awarded Photo~! [does happy dance!]
I really liked this one. The clouds and the reflections of them in the pond are hypnotic. You're getting sleeeeepy, sleeeeepy. You will vote for this photo and remember nothing.

Thanks Appleyes! I am shocked each time something good happens here. In a good way, mind you. I saw this initially from my bathroom window, just checking to see whether I should go out and get some photos. I saw that! I RAN through the entire house to get out the front door to run back around the house on the outside to run out to the pond (and then sneak the last forty or fifty yards, just in case deer or waterfowl are at the pond) -- just so I could get these. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it with my own eyes or in images that I can recall. Being under that made me feel the sense of space more so than usual when I examine the sky.
I'm so glad ALL of you who like it do. Thank you all sincerely.

Thanks texaaron, This one has garnered more attention than I thought it would. I wasn't sure how well received this would be. All the compliments, including yours, mean a lot to me with regard to how I view my efforts and their overall "success" of showing others something that makes them stop and look and then go, "oooh" or "wow." Just like I do with so many others here on VB.

Great photo with depth of confusing reflection, up could very well be down. Fun photo that you can be proud of.

Thanks so much for the commentary, 1Ernesto! I always like to hear the deeper side of what people think about my efforts. I agree, this is one of those that, at first glance, might very well be upside down. Thanks again for your comments!

Wow, thanks, jefflaidlaw! I have to admit that while I planned to be out there, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and took advantage of it.
