Captured this shot of the Barred Owl in Southern Oklahoma the last day of November 2011. He or she just flew over my head with these huge wings as i was raking leaves outside, and perched itself upon the branch u can see above. So, I went inside for the camera and luckily the barred owl was still there when i returned. So, here i am fully zoomed out @ 300mm, no time for a tripod, and the sun is getting low. Oh, well, it is what it is. The barred owl let me blow off a few shots inbetween breathes, leaning on a tree and this is the best shot. U know how hard it is to try and hold steady zoomed all the way out...... gee whiz....! Hope you like it, the experience was unexpected and interesting.......
