Yes, Amanda, you are correct, it is a shame to coop up these beautiful wild animals. In the case of Thailand, they are not safe in forest as poachers will kill them for body parts, so they are definitely safer in sanctuaries. When in Africa, I saw part of a head of 13 rhinos that wander the forest and plains, they each had an armed guard to fend off poachers. Our beautiful world is sometimes not so beautiful!

Dear Jean-Luc: This photograph was taken 8 years ago and a special Buddhist temple that had many animals, especially tigers that had been rescued from the jungle and brought to the temple and raised by monks. They never tasted blood and were ate cat food. Visitors were allowed to be close to the animals in the afternoons when they were less active and sleepy. About a year ago, the Thai police closed the temple because they were found to be trading in animal parts. So sad at that time that the world learned the monks were not honest. Thanks for comment! :)

Dear Jeffery: Thanks for good words, I had never been so close to a tiger, it was an exciting day. People and tigers come together in the afternoon when they are on sleepy and on low energy! But still a great time! :)

Ha, ha...dear Sandor. To be honest I don't hang-out with tigers, this shot was a once in a lifetime experience; however, I did flirt with lion cubs in Africa...ha, ha! Thanks for commenting, I am with you! :)
