Unprecedented snow melt in 2011 caused massive flooding in the meadows of the Yosemite valley floor and also freakish weather. The week started like summer hot and sunny. Mid week was more spring like and by the last night and final day as seen here a major snow dump! Visibility was poor and it was pretty cold and snowing most of the morning so badly that it was almost impossible to get out of my accommodation due to the depth of snow that had fallen overnight. No chance of any photography but it was the last day and I waited it out. Eventually some of the clouds cleared, the gloom lifted, it stopped snowing and the sun even made a brief appearance. That was the chance. Ankle deep in icy water was required to make this shot. Always felt it had an infrared feel to it in monochrome.
