A very nice picture with magnificent deers. Yes it is deers, not elks. I heard from others that you mistakenly call them for elks.

This is an amazing photo of these incredible creatures. And YES, you are correct, they are ELK, not deer, as some have suggested. I have seen them in California and have the literature regarding their recovery from the brink of extinction. Awesome capture!
