Osprey with fish

....the Osprey missed the first time! I must tell you that osprey are not that common around here in the Wichita Mountains....and i go out pretty often. So, when i got out of the jeep, i was hoping to maybe get some duck photos. I saw this large hawk flying over the water my first thought was ...hmmm thats strange. I've been shooting manual for a bit now, so i adjusted some settings for speed and light and that bird did a flyby right over my head! I was thinking that it might be an osprey but i wasnt sure...it was happening pretty fast. Then he flew off across the lake and kind of stood still... that thing is going to dive and i know it! The osprey dove so quick i only got some fuzzy shots. But i noticed it didnt catch anything. It circled pretty wide, and made another dive...I focused on it and lost it in the process ....I had to zoom back out and just found it as it splashed out with a fish ....i managed 3 shots. Then as if to show off he did another flyby right over my head, like 20 feet over my head as if to say ....See! I got one this time! Some of these shots i captured in aperture mode just to ensure i got something ...at least i was hoping i did! So many things can go wrong. I have the other 2 shots of the osprey emerging from the water but you cant see its head. Shooting that far across the water, I didn't expect to get the subject in focus at the speed it was all happening. I've had a lot of practice shooting various birds so I know that many times birds in flight can be quite difficult to acquire. I hope you like it!
