The monochromatic themed Silver City New Mexico window display at Vintage Fantasies clothing store had my heart pounding. This was the scene I had been seeking for all these years, hoping to make a black and white composition that is both original and artful. It is my hope that this edited photo creates the same excitement for you the viewer as it does for me. The white weave overlay screens much of the unwanted window reflections. It also causes a sense of movement if one concentrates their attention to viewing on a portion of the photo for an extended period. Clever window displays are becoming a key part of the retail marketing mix. Internationally, visual merchandising and innovative displays have become commonplace with retailers. Brands have recognized the importance of window displays as the first point of contact between the store and the customer and believe that the first impression of the store is often integral to the customer’s purchasing decision.
