Thank you. Watching the sun rise at the Grand Canyon is one of those events that makes one feel seriously insignificant. Over the course of maybe 20 minutes after the sun breaches the horizon, the light and shadows are shifting constantly. The city of Sedona is similar, if not as awesomely huge. Photographer's heaven.

I used a really big sky hook. Seriously, I just cropped the photo at a 16:9 aspect ratio, then moved the top of the photo down to cut off most of the sky. Although the canyon was magnificent, the western sky at sunrise was dull and lifeless. So I made it go away.

The Grand Canyon there is nothing like it in this world! I lived in Phoenix for almost 20 years so I had the opportunity to get up there several times. Every time I have seen it it just seems unbelievable. Love the picture love the Shadows just lovely.

Thank you. I agree. This photo required staying at one of the rim hotels, getting up before dawn, hiking to my pre-selected photo spot in the dark, setting up the tripod & camera, then waiting for the sun to break. A lot of work, but the result was worth it.
