The lava-lookalike is spectacle at Horsetail fall on the eastern edge of El Capitian in Yosemite Nation Park. We have finally had enough rain to make the falls run all year. To watch the sunset is truly amazing. This phenomenon only happens in Feb for about 4 night if the weather is willing.

Awe, my old stomping grounds. When I returned home from the service, I moved to the park and began working for the Currey Company, the parks concessionaire. Late 70's and into the 80s. It was a wonderful place to be reintroduced to society after so many other experiences. Wonderful image Mark.

very beautiful and dramatic photo, the sun illuminating the rock face to the right , the clouds soft pink, small bits of blue sky
