The South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It was built to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below.
The lighthouse has warned passing ships of the treacherous rocks below since its completion in 1809. The 28 m. tall lighthouse on South Stack was designed with a main light visible to passing vessels for 44 km. to allow safe passage for ships on the treacherous Dublin–Holyhead–Liverpool sea route.

I like seeing shots of places I have been to and photographed - it shows what a small world it is and provides a basic connection to someone else who stood in the place and enjoyed the same view
