The Bond

The birth of any child is something miraculous. The anticipation,the fear,the dreams,the excitement all culminate in that single moment when new life enters the world. Knowing from that moment forward this little person will take you to the highest high and at times, your lowest low. This little hand is now as big as my own. Over the years I've watched it grow. I remember every phase of it's development: bottles, blanket, curiously exploring, learning to tie laces, T-ball, paint ball, piano, now handling the wheel of a car....what was once a helpless, dependent delicate set of fingers is now the hand of a young man. Strong. Confident. Proud. Creative. One day it too will hold a tiny hand and the journey will begin again. And again... and again.....
