While in Northeastern Bulgaria I was given the opportunity to visit a mosque in a small village. There were three old gentlemen in the mosque who had just finished their morning prayers. They agreed to allow me to photograph the mosque and them. The funnest part of this day was communicating. These 3 guys only spoke Turkish. I speak English. My host speaks Bulgarian. So we had to find another person to translate from Bulgarian to Turkish. Everything we discussed was done in 3 languages and 4 or more people. After I got the images I wanted we sat talked for nearly 2 hours, joking and laughing and relating stories. A most memorable day.
