Looking east across Pyramid lake, this shot contrast the wind lines on the water with the linear cloud shapes and the terrace lines on the hills in the center. The terraced slopes of the hills show the historic water levels that this once vast lake reached. The highest terrace was formed tens of thousand of years ago at the high stand of an inland sea call lake Lahonton. The far shore is about 7 miles across at this point on the lake.
