My dad has been monitoring Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) populations in Palo Duro Canyon since the 1980's, a task he 'inherited' from one of his college professors. In springtime when we're able, we rappel down the cliffs to check on the nests to see how the chicks are doing and to see what the different pairs are feeding them. This little guy was doing great, and seems ready to take on the world...well, maybe after a few more feathers come in. Palo Duro Canyon, Texas
