I got up early and fed the hummingbirds, then decided to photograph them. They're fun to watch, and they go so fast, I'm always happy when I can freeze their motion with a fast shutter speed. This is my favorite shot of the ones I took. I like how his tail feathers are spread out, and backlit along with his wings. I like the bokeh in the background. To stop his motion, I used a shutter speed of 5,000, which made for a shallow depth of field: f/2.8, but that made him stand out from the background.
