Location
The photo was taken on the Blue-Ridge Mountains in North Carolina during a family trip.Time
It was early probably around 11am but we were expecting some rain. Due to that the clouds were low enough to engulf the mountain tops.Lighting
Nothing much, this was all natural light. I did make sure my f-stop was a bit lower to make things a little more moody and to capture more details.Equipment
my simple setup, a Canon T7i with the nifty-fifty (50mm f1.8)Inspiration
Definitely the movie "The Mist" about how the the mist came from the mountains and then down to the local town. I was super exited when taking this photo because how often do you get the chance to capture this setting without good planning and timing.Editing
Yes, just a simple increase in contrast to make it more moody and a little doge & burn to make the trees pop up a bit.In my camera bag
I usually carry a camera either my T7i or R6 but i always make sure i have a 50mm or 24mm to capture on the go photos/scenery.Feedback
Keep your setup simple and go out and explore, the last thing you want is a heavy bag of equipment and only use two things. Definitely get to know your equipment that can save you a lot of time.
