Location
The photo was taken in Cala Figuera Lighthouse. A beautiful lighthouse from the coast of MallorcaTime
The photo was taken at dawn, around 6:00 in the morning. My friend Ruben and I had already tried to take a photograph of the sunrise at this lighthouse, but the time we went in the sky it was very overcast and did not allow us to see colors or the sun, we even had some rain. So we tried again and on the second try we were able to capture a beautiful sunrise.Lighting
To capture the high dynamic range I had, I shot in bracketing mode. There really isn't any cave there, but there are some rocks sticking out. I took a panoramic photograph taking advantage of those rocks and by joining them together, I created a cave effect. It is a technique that I use on many occasions to generate caves.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony A7 M3 and a Sigma lense 14-24 f.2.8Inspiration
The landscape of this lighthouse is spectacular and is widely photographed. My intention was to take a different photograph of this location and I think I succeeded.Editing
In the post processing, first I sticked the panorama in hdr mode and after I adjust lights, shadows, contrast and color. I try to take the photo well in the location to have less work in the post processingIn my camera bag
The things I always have in my bag are my Sony a7 M4 with the Sigma lense 14-24 and the Sony lense 24-105. Then I normally have some lanterns in case that I have to do some night picture and sometimes I take the sigma 35mm f.1.4 and the astrhori fisheye f 2.8Feedback
My advice is that if you can't get the photo you have in your head the first time, come back as many times as necessary until you get it. My other advice is to look for a different point of view in a familiar location so you can take your photo and make it unique. Think in panoramic format to create caves where there are none and to be able to capture more landscape
