Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this photo while vacationing in Hawaii on the island of Kauai, if you look closely you can see a yellow surf board in the surf, kinda gives you the size of the wave behind it.

Time

Photo was taken early morning between 6am and 7am.

Lighting

Knowing where the sun is and the shadows and the atmospheric conditions, how the sun changes the shadows and how the color of the sky affects the colors in the water how it dissipates the fog.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D300 with a 70mm to 200mm Nikon lens, hand held, polarized filter.

Inspiration

The waves, the cliffs, the fog, the whole scene, the view was so inspiring !

Editing

I used Photoshop combined with Topaz Lab plug-in to touch up the contrast a bit but if I remember not much at all !

In my camera bag

Ohh, everything !! I usually have 2 camera body's, my lenses range from 10mm up to 600mm, a cleaning kit, lots of batteries, extra memory cards, rain gear, tri pod, flashes,diffuse-rs, a gray card, I pad or lap top and remote.
