Location
The photo was shot in June 2017, in Villefranche-sur-Mer, near Nice.Time
I shot this picture few minutes after the city lights were switched on.Lighting
I wanted to have both, the light of the city and the sunset light on the picture. To catch the perfect moment, I have to wait from 8PM to 10PM.Equipment
I use my favorite camera, the Nikon D810, and a 24-70 lens both set-up on a tripod.Inspiration
99% of the pictures featuring this city are shot from the same point of view, showing the bay and the hills surounding the city. I wanted to show it from a different angle.Editing
I changed the sky to add more "drama" to the final picture. I also add a little bit of contrast and details. In my camera bag
When I shoot landscape, I have my nikon D810 and two lenses : the Nikon 20mm 1.8 and the 24-70mm 2.8. I also have a carbon fiber tripod, and different set of ND filters.Feedback
Do not hesitate to wait few hours if needed for the perfect light. And most important, if you want to shoot iconic place, try to find a very unique angle.
