Magical! The lighting is superb...I agree with Cathleen about the shadows from the trees catching on the mist...glorious!

Location
The photo was taken from the main road about a 1klm from home, it use to be part of a dairy farm, in behind the tress and mist are concrete warehouses as industry slowly takes over.Time
Woke up early to go to another area to capture the fog over the city and the skyscrapers showing through the top of the fog. After driving 20 klm there was no fog, did some sunrise shots and drove home. not far from home there were little pockets of mist and I remembered driving to work and looking in my rear view mirror seeing this tree with mist and sunlight so I thought I would check it out. And there was this photo I have wanted for so many weeks just as I have seen it in my mirror at around the same time 7 am in the morning.Lighting
Looking at the area it looked eerie. The sun was nearly over the trees, the mist half way up the trees with shadows from the Suns rays looking like fingers reaching out for the earth. To the left and out of site were a few wallabies checking me out.Equipment
Equipment used was Camera: OLYMPUS E-M5 Lens 45mm, Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/800 Focal Length: 45/1 This is a prime lens and my choice over my kit lens due to the light and possible lens flare.Inspiration
Driving to work a few weeks earlier, I saw this tree surrounded by mist and the sun shining through just as it is now in the photo. It was picture perfect. I went there two weekends in a row but no mist. It wasn't until the fog had settled after some afternoon storms on a Friday that set the scene for the next morning and I was not disappointed when I arrived at the spot.Editing
Using Light room 6, I adjusted the exposure -0.24 contrast +36 Highlights -50 shadows -7 whites -10 blacks +19\ Sharpening 23, Radius 1.1 detail 30 and masking 46In my camera bag
I have a small back pack which consists of M.Zuiko 14-42mm, 45mm, 60mm Macro, 40-150mm and 75-300mm. Tripod, filter, Cable release, interval timer. A Flash that is rarely used. I have a smaller bag which I use just for local shots and usually take 1 to 3 lenses depending on where I am going.Feedback
Be prepared for anything, all types of Weather. The diversity of colours and situations. Plan ahead for each trip, as its amazing how the weather and light can change your idea on the move. Plan "B" Don’t be afraid to move around using sneaker focus as it could mean the difference between a good shot and a great shot. Above all enjoy the experience. “Take nothing but pictures leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time.” – Unknown
