Behind The Lens
Location
Sunny Side Up was taken on an outing with my camera club to Moss Greenhouses in Idaho. We were invited to come and practice our craft, about 20 of us were all around looking for different angles.Time
We were at the greenhouses after hours mid May, this was one of the last images that I took because we were loosing the sun light.Lighting
The lighting was filtered late golden hour. I was inside a greenhouse and the sun was almost set.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon SL1, my Sigma 18-250, my travel tripod no flash, my shutter release cordInspiration
I was trying to learn macro at this time, and wanted an image that I could print and give to my mother for Mother's Day. My mentor Kim Critchfield had given me instruction on angle for macro and I was trying to make him proud.Editing
This was post-processed with Acdsee and a little adobe, I never learned adobe well enough to do anything other than my water mark.In my camera bag
My bag changes depending on where and what I am doing. Always in gear is my Canon that I am shooting (this was taken years ago and since then I have outgrown the SL1 and have move into the 90D). I usually have a shutter release cord and the extender (I don't like the timer nor the remote). The lens will depend on where I am going and what I might see. I have learned to carry 2 tripods in the car (archer swiss style mounts), often others might have issue with their tripod and might miss the shot if they can't get a tripod.Feedback
My advice would be wait for the light, get down look around, and take at least 3 images (only if digital) before moving on. I would also encourage anyone to find a mentor or a few. I wouldn't be growing without mine. Right now I love Caryn Esplin, Kim Critchfield, Terry Halbert and all my many friends at the Magic Valley Camera Club.
