Absolutely stunning! Congratulations! What type of editing software do you use? I am looking to buy one as I don't have any yet.

Amazing! Great macro. So wonderful what cameras--and good photographers--can show us these days. Congratulations on your win.

Location
This photo was taken in a park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. I often go there to take macro pictures of insects.Time
This photo was taken on July 1, 2015 at 3:30 PM.Lighting
For this photo, I used natural lighting. I didn’t use a flash.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 7D mark II camera and a Canon EF 100mm f2.8 IS USM macro lens....handheld, no flash.Inspiration
Macro photography of insects is like exploring a whole new world to me. I often compete in nature photo competitions, both local and on international levels, so I’m constantly looking for new pictures to enter.Editing
I always take my pictures in RAW so I have a big file to work with. I use Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop CC to develop my images. Lately, I have also used Macphun. I mainly sharpen, and use the dodge and burn tools to emphasize different areas of the insect. In my camera bag
For macro photography, I usually use my Canon EOS 7D mark II camera. I carry my Canon EF 100mm f2.8 IS USM macro lens. That is the equipment I used for this image. In addition, I carry my Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 L IS USM lens, Kenko extension tubes and a flash. The zoom lens combined with extension tubes are great for taking macro pictures where the subjects are hard to reach…like in water. For those situations, I also use a tripod.Feedback
Be patient! Photographing insects is difficult but rewarding. When possible, get in eye level with the insects. I like the impact it creates to look them in the eyes.
