Wardley's Creek at Hambleton, Fylde coast, Lancashire UK is a small mooring area just off the River Wyre which is fed from the Irish Sea at the estuary by Fleetwood and Knott End. Situated across from Morecambe Bay the river runs a 10m tide but sometimes, it's just not enough to float the sailing boats at the mud moorings and small wooden jetties at Wardley's Creek.

Location
Wardley's Creek is a small waterway just inwards off the River Wyre at Hambleton, Lancashire UK - between the Shard Bridge and the mouth of the river estuary at Knott End on Sea and shared with Fleetwood on the opposite side of the river. You can reach it by following the side road off the main road beside The Shovels pub. It's a tidal river and one of the largest tides in UK often rising by 10m and higher during Spring tides with a wind behind it! This photo was taken in September as the tide was making its' way out - it leaves these yachts and sailing boats stuck adrift in the mud creeks and moorings until the next time the tide is high enough to float them.Time
September a little after lunchtime (around 14:00hrs).Lighting
The day started out with heavier cloud but luckily it started to break up during our drive there as we made our way the 4 miles or so from home. So there's still a mixture of light and shadows with lighter cloud and blue sky.Equipment
Nikon D3100, hand held - no special technical stuff. Just me looking for something to fill my lens.Inspiration
We're new to the area and were literally out exploring various places around our home town of Knott End on Sea. I'd heard of this place and was intrigued by some of the stories of various goings on - including smugglers!Editing
I find photos I view on my laptop tend to look a little overbright and never sure if it's just my laptop or my camera settings. I'd purchased my SLR camera a couple of years earlier after only ever using old film instamatic types to cartridges and later compact "point and shoot" but felt the time had come to move on..... I don't really do manuals so I learn as I go along. Any editing I do is standard Microsoft's standard photo editor for straightening, cropping and lighten or brighten as necessary. In my camera bag
Nikon D3100, kit lens 18-55mm always attached. I also have a 35mm lens which is little used and I take my 55-300mm lens when travelling or if I think I will need it specifically. I do have a monopod and tripod but they are rarely used. Mainly because my husband is my "pack pony".Feedback
We live in UK and the weather in this little part of the world of Over Wyre tends to be a bit different than on the other side of the river Wyre for some reason. Many say we are protected as we're tucked in on Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland fells offer us some respite from the worst of the weather. It's the luck of the draw when it comes to photography for me...
