What a wonderful mood you have set... love the rule of thirds application in your composition.

Location
This shot was taken between after the Rifugio Auronzo on the road going to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomites Area (Italy).Time
This was taken before the dawn, was an interesting soft morning, the blue light was perfect to capture shots with a great atmosphere. I was there with three friends and I remember it was very cold, mystical, and was incredible capture this shot, born between night and day.Lighting
I wanted a image with a soft and different mood, able to draw the viewer into the majestic of nature. There was a beautiful light coming from the middle of the image that created this contrast between snow and cold tones. I decided to add a sense of dream and an epic vision to this shot.Equipment
The equipment I used for this shot is: Canon 6 D, Manfrotto Tripod, Samyang 14 f2.8Inspiration
The idea at that weekend of early May was to photograph the Tre Cime di Lavaredo under the snow. Unfortunately the road was not beaten and we could not get to the bivouac. We then went back to the Auronzo bivouac where we spent the night at less than 7 degrees, making the pasta with the snow. We woke up to photograph the Milky Way, but towards dawn I decided to walk to this little church, the light was great, and I looked for the best composition to make grace at this place.Editing
Yes I did. This is a single shot, worked with Adobe Photoshop and Camera Raw. I used basically the luminosity masks, I tried to enfatize the light keeping the shadows readable. I like the way cold colors work with hot light, so I adjusted the color tones according to my taste. In my camera bag
In my backpack I have many things, I try to list everything below: - Canon 6D - Lee, Nisi, Hoya Filters (GND & ND) - Remote control - Canon 16-35 F4 (my favorite lens) - Canon 24-105 F4 - Canon 70-200 F4 - Led Lenser Torch - Star Adventure Mini and I am currently using a Sirui Tripod / headFeedback
Sometimes it is very important to move at the shooting site, perhaps walking 200 meters or more further to the left you can find a better light and composition. In fact, for this shot I have taken care of the composition very much, it was not easy to value the church, and even the light behind it had a great charm. I therefore always suggest moving, not stopping, not content. Look and try.
