Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was actually taken on the couch with a pink feather boa. It started out as an improvised fashion shoot for my step daughters.

Time

This photo was taken in the evening.

Lighting

One Mettle 300w/s strobe with a softbox. Placed high and to the models right. Power setting on 3/4.

Equipment

Nikon D200 with 70-200 mm lens. Apature set to f16. Strobe is a Mettle 300 w/s. Camera was hand held.

Inspiration

The feather boa was a prop for Halloween. Renee drapped it around her head and I took a shot.

Editing

Post processing includes contrast adjustment, dodge and burn and color to black and white with Nik Exposure plug in for Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I always have my 70-200mm as well as a speedlight and Phottix wireless triggers. I can capture just about anything with those things.

Feedback

Just shoot and have fun. The only bad photo is the one you never take. Sometimes the best ones are the ones we never plan. Like this impromtu shot.
