This was an image i shot last year at the Atlanta zoo with my Nikon D7100, It is one of those images that will forever stand out in my mind. I had gone to the zoo to photograph one of the local organtanes, on my way i noticed this elephant in a large building with his trainer. So I wondered inside along with several other people. The trainer was working with the elephant doing a few tricks. The crowd seemed quite pleased. Of course, I had my camera out and was taking a few shots. It was in that moment I could see something totally different than the rest of the crowd. As she gazed into my lens, I felt a sadness through my body that shook me to my core. I had seen a glimpse straight through her soul. Moments like this do not happen often, It left a mark in my heart forever.

Superb composition, really gets across why I object to such magnificent animals in inappropriate captivity. One of the most powerful pictures that I have seen.
