Thanks to the Viewbug staff for the Winter Selection Award from December 2015. I am fairly new to Viewbug and photography so this means a lot!

Location
This shot was taken at Six Flags New England in Agawam Massachusetts. It was an off the cuff shot of my daughter attempting the hair flip I am a self taught photographer and I am always learning and learning and learning.Time
This was shot later in the day as you can see by the low sun which created the dramatic shadowing in the water.Lighting
I really didn't set the shot up too much, I just happened to get the sun in the middle of the hair flip.Equipment
I used a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition for this shot mounted on a home made bottle cap mount I put together just for Six Flags as they do not allow even handles for the GoPro.Inspiration
I had seen many hair flip pictures in the past and I wanted to see if I could capture anything close to a nice photo. My daughter's hair had grown long enough to get the full effect of the flip.Editing
I used the Snapseed app along with Lightroom for postprocessing the image. In my camera bag
I always have at least one GoPro in my bag along with either my Nikon D90, D5300 or D7100. I also never leave the house withut the trusty workhorses of the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 and the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. I do add other lenses as necessary but that is basically what I always have on me.Feedback
This type of shot isn't too hard. Your model needs to practice the flip to get the right height and speed down but once they get it right it's basically compose the shot and action!
