These iconic trees on Bregagh Road have been used as a filming location in HBO's epic series Game of Thrones, representing the King's Road.
They are one of the most photographed natural phenomena in Northern Ireland and a popular attraction for tourists from across the world.
The road is reputedly haunted by a spectral ‘Grey Lady’ who appears at dusk among the trees. She silently glides along the roadside and disappears as she passes the last beech tree.

Location
Photo taken at the Dark Hedges, Bregagh Rd, Stranocum, Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, BT53 8PX, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.Time
It was a long time ago but I am assuming early morning to avoid the plethora of visitors looking to see the famous 'Kings Road' of Game of Thrones lore....Lighting
Just very fortunate to get great natural low-level winter light to add to the atmospheric look.Equipment
My trusty Canon camera and a very warm duffle coat.Inspiration
Mother Nature- what other inspiration do you need in God's Country as it inspires you everywhere you look.Editing
Yes, loads but I'd have to kill you if I told you, wink wink.In my camera bag
Just the camera- I like to travel light.Feedback
Just focus on what inspires you the most. Patience is a great virtue for a photographer, some things you can plan but others just happen by being there at the right time.
